How I work
I trained as an integrative counsellor, a way of working which allows me to use a lot of different approaches with a client in order to meet your specific needs. This allows me to respond to you and your individual style and approach to life, so that you can experience being deeply heard and seen.
You will also be able to explore attentively listening to, and discovering trust in, yourself. The counselling relationship is healing and supportive; it is a place where you are met with empathy for your experiences and worldview, and supported in the process that you are working through.
For me, the process of therapeutic counselling begins in the relationship between client and counsellor. It is collaborative, and our journey together might include exploration of your behaviour patterns, considering the impact of your earlier life on the present, or working with creativity to explore the unconscious. I place the emphasis on kindness and compassion in our sessions, allowing you the space to work in the ways that offer both expansiveness and safety.
I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and work in accordance with their ethical framework, which provides external support and protection for my clients in the process we go through together.
